Heppners Win Log Playhouse

SEELEY LAKE – David and Sherri Heppner are the proud new owners of a log playhouse raffled off by the Seeley Lake Elementary students going to Washington D.C. this summer. They feel very fortunate to have won the playhouse and know that their 10 grandchildren will enjoy it.

Bo Hinchey built the six by eight-foot playhouse this spring. He put in about 40 hours on the project and donated it to the group going on the trip as a fundraiser.

Those going on the trip could sell tickets individually and as a group starting last June.

The group joined Mountain Lake Presbyterian Church at their Fourth of July bake sale. That is where the Heppner's purchased the winning ticket.

While the drawing date was set for Sept. 4, because of the Rice Ridge Fire evacuations it was postponed until Sept. 20. The group raised $2,677 for their trip to Washington, D.C. this June.

"Thank you to everyone who purchased tickets and to all the kids for participating in selling the tickets," said Bo's wife Amanda.

The playhouse was delivered to Heppners' home on Double Arrow Ranch. David, who teaches shop in Box Elder, Mont. is looking forward to building custom log furniture for the playhouse.

"Thank you to Bo Hinchey and everyone who participated in building the BEAUTIFUL log playhouse," wrote David Heppner in an email. "Best wishes to the Seeley Lake Middle School on their Washington D.C. trip fund raising endeavors. I hope you have a trip filled with adventure, learning and lasting memories.  Blessings to everyone involved!"
