Trevinos Overwhelmed with Support

SEELEY LAKE – The final tally is in for the fundraising efforts that culminated with the Carnival for Addy Sept. 24. Since the carnival was announced in mid-August, $25,630.04 has been raised for the Trevino family from Seeley Lake.

"We continue to be shocked by all the support. The carnival looked amazing and exceeded our expectations tremendously," wrote the Trevinos in an email.

While their three-year-old daughter Addy was finished with radiation for her brain tumor, they were not able to return to Seeley Lake for the carnival. Instead they spent the week at Disney World and Universal Studios in Florida with the Make-a-Wish Foundation.

From the pictures they have seen, the Trevinos felt Steve and Cheri Thompson and Mary Lynne Jones outdid themselves with the carnival. They were grateful for the countless hours they put in and for Thompsons hosting the carnival on their property. Jen Trevino said she is thankful for the hours Jones has spent on the phone with her, "on her worst days."

While the Trevinos have been away for the past three months, neighbor Cheryl Evans has been taking care of their home and cats.

"A huge thank you to Cheryl. She has been such a huge part of us and our home," wrote Jen.

"I've searched for home my whole life, traveled as far as Guam and have never, ever found a place like Seeley Lake," wrote Treay Trevino. "The beauty of this town can't be found anywhere else. There is no place like this place, anywhere near this place, so this must be the place to call home."

The Trevinos are looking forward to returning to Seeley Lake after a few more appointments in Seattle. Their five-year-old daughter Miya is excited to return to school and Addy has a cubby waiting for her at preschool when she feels up to it.

"Seeley Lake has a forever place in our hearts," the Trevinos wrote. "To everyone, Thank You!"
