Junior Hunter Sokoloski heads for a 12-yard touchdown against Troy after he can't find a receiver on fourth and 9.

SEELEY LAKE - The Blackhawks made the most of a makeup game against the Troy Trojans Sept. 25 after falling to the Darby Tigers Sept. 22.

Versus Darby

The Blackhawks’ defenders took to the field ready to tame the Tigers. After giving up a couple of first downs, the Blackhawks started pushing back. They pushed the Tigers all the way back to the 20-yard line.

On third and 40 the Tigers landed a long pass and broke away for the game’s first touchdown. The Blackhawks held the Tigers out for the 2-point conversion.

The Blackhawks answered right back. Logan Robinson returned the Tigers kickoff 65 yards for a touchdown. Nate Samuli plowed through the line making the 2-point conversion good and putting the Blackhawks in the lead.

A kickoff and five plays later the Tigers were back on top.

The Blackhawks had a chance to tie it back up but a 65-yard touchdown run by Samuli got called back for an illegal hit. They worked their way down to the 15-yard line before coming up short on a fourth down.

The Tigers took advantage of it and put in one more touchdown before the end of the first quarter.

In the second quarter Logan Maughan scored a touchdown for the Blackhawks putting them just one goal behind the Tigers. It would be the last time the Blackhawks would put points on the board.

The Tigers put in two more touchdowns before the end of the half and another pair in the final quarter. Final score was 14-44.

Versus Troy

In what was supposed to be the Blackhawks’ second game of the season before being postponed due to the Rice Ridge Fire, no smoke or fire could stop the Blackhawks from the 50-14 victory over the Trojans.
