Carnival For Addy - Labor Day Weekend

SEELEY LAKE – It's been five weeks since the world of Seeley Lake residents Jen and Treay Trevino was turned upside down. From a happy family of four – enjoying the beauty and joys of their small town with thoughts only of what might be for dinner – to the frightening, devastating diagnosis of inoperable brain cancer in their youngest. From blue skies to nurses, doctors, ambulances, sterile rooms, biopsies, radiation, chemo and now worry of their home and precious memories and photographs at risk from the Rice Ridge Fire.

Our small town has banded together with prayers, donations and fundraisers to help the Trevinos be able to focus on family. Lemonade stands, raffles, cans in local stores, t-shirts, jewelry and straight donations from friends and total strangers have helped ease the struggle.

Labor Day weekend, Sunday, Sept. 3 from 2-6 p.m., there will be a Carnival for Addy at 912 Riverview Drive. Yes, for fundraising but also for some laughs and giggles for the kids before school starts. There will be face painting, many games, prizes, popsicles, popcorn, goodies and more.

Organizers are looking for volunteers to help run the stations. If you can work for an hour or two or the whole event call Mary Lynne Jones, 210-7254 for more information. Games and snacks will start at 50 cents.

There will also be a rummage sale and book sale. If you are cleaning out your garage and find a box of sporting equipment that you haven't used in the past few years or old toys in good condition, we would love to put it on our table. Books for all ages and genres are welcome. If you have larger items that you would like to sell, we have no problem sharing the wealth if you would donate a portion. Rummage items will be sold for a cash donation, books will be sold by the inch. Please no clothing.

If you would like to donate, please drop off any items at Steve and Cheri Thompson's, 912 Riverview Drive. It is the next to the last driveway on the right before the bridge. Look for a sign that says "Addy's Rummage" by a little shed. Drop anything off, anytime.

We hope to see you at the carnival! If you are unable to make the carnival but would still like to donate to the Trevino family make checks payable to Citizens Alliance Bank - Benefit of Addy Boo. Mail to Citizens Alliance Bank, PO Box 720, Seeley Lake, MT 59868. 100% of the donations go to the Trevinos. There is also a GoFundMe site: https://www.gofundme.com/Help-the-Trevino-family
