Clarification Regarding Landscapes and Livelihood Program

SWAN VALLEY – In the Jan. 5 issue of the Pathfinder’s Article “Exploring Ecology and Community-based Conservation,” it was not clear that the Landscapes and Livelihood program is currently run by Swan Valley Connections (SVC). While Northwest Connections (NwC) started the program in the early 2000s, after the merger of NwC and Swan Ecosystem Center in January 2016, SVC continued the program because it was a successful program that met the new mission.

Christmas Trees Collected for Bonfire, Jan. 21

SEELEY LAKE – Everyone is invited to bring their Christmas trees to The Filling Station parking lot for the annual bonfire Jan. 21 at 6:30 p.m.

Trees can be added to the pile anytime but need to be free of tinsel, ornaments and wire. The Filling Station will light the pile at 6:30 p.m. There will be music and fun for all.

Bell Ringers Needed

SEELEY LAKE - The Seeley-Swan Mountain Bells, a local community handbell choir, is starting its spring season and has room for additional members.  There are two criteria to join: 1. plan to have fun and 2. already able to read music, even if just slightly or very rusty.

Never even seen a handbell?  Not a problem.  It’s easy to learn and a ton of fun.  The group typically practice together in the music room of Seeley Lake Elementary at 3:15 p.m. for 90 minutes on Tuesday afternoons.  They plan to host a spring concert around the first of May, and then stand down for the summer.

If interested, come to a practice and give it a try.  Warning: Can be addictive.  Feel free to contact Joann at 677-4424 for additional information.
