Eight Reasons Why You Should Vote "YES" for the Community Sewer Project – Larson vs. Larson

SEELEY LAKE - There are general and yet specific “ISSUES” to be considered in deciding to vote for the COMMUNITY SEWER PROJECT. They are as follows:

1. Decisions should be made with facts and proper education of choices & consequences.

2. The cost of the initial and final project.

3. The serious present and future human health consequences.

4. The short and long term environmental conditions.

5. The economic impact on the entire community of Seeley Lake

6. The image of residents and businesses of the community, present and future.

7. The project should be “fair and balanced” for all concerned for present and future.

8. The project SHOULD BE CONSIDERED A COMMUNITY WIDE AND EFFORT PROJECT.

Just for the record, I am a “newby” (two and half years in the community). I am not in the sewer district BUT support it in SPIRIT AND FINANCIALLY.

I have learned that this project has a long history. I have learned that at one point the state would have funded the entire project. I have now learned that the project would be funded 70 percent through grants provided through hard work and cooperation. I have learned that funding will go away if the vote is “NO” on this project.

As I am very much for the balance and sustainability of this community now and the future, I am for this project, even though I cannot vote. I will help support it ….EVEN FINANCIALLY. I do not choose to change or grow this community beyond it being BALANCED AND SUSTAINABLE. I am for an enhanced “peace of mind” that the community is concerned and will properly address the above eight issues, IN TOTAL, not just the economic factors of who can or cannot pay for this project. I choose “QUALITY OF LIFE.” I seek a “BASE”, A Balanced And Sustainable Environment. I work to this end ….now and in the future.

I have gone through the WASTEWATER FACILITY PLAN that is located in the library, (very professionally detailed and voluminous). I have focused on the 14 pages of the executive summary. If I, or any one who cares about the above issues, can or should go to this plan for verification or validation of FACTS.

People need to be committed to the ISSUES as above stated, in detail. There are many experts, professional, studies, etc. They have and are available to discuss the issues.

I have read letters and ads and heard discussions regarding this project. I question how many people have actually taken 10-15 minutes to read the executive summary of the PROJECT. Further, I have spent 70 cents to get a copy of it. I read it over one cup of coffee, (I could have just as easily read it in the morning while sitting on the toilet… while contemplating where the waste water was going when I was done reading).

I request anyone who cares or are concerned about the real issues, in total, should go to the PLAN or at least call me at 406-369-5565. I do not know certain individuals promoting only the financial cost of this project BUT I would consider a LARSON VS LARSON debate (HA-HA). I have heard he is a nice gentleman. Maybe we could compromise on issues and make this community a place that provides QUALITY OF LIFE IN A BALANCED AND SUSTAINABLE ENVIRONMENT for all now and the future.
