Missoula Aging Services Opens Office in Seeley Lake

SEELEY LAKE - Older adults in the Seeley Lake area will now have access to Missoula Aging Services (MAS) resources and assistance in Seeley Lake, right in time for the Medicare Open Enrollment period. Starting Oct. 18, MAS's new satellite office located at the Bison Bear Center, 3166 MT Hwy. 83 North, will be open Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. to serve seniors, their families and caregivers in person or by phone. The Seeley Lake Community Foundation provides the office.

Resource Specialist Linda Howard will staff the office and offer information and assistance, referrals to services and consultation about Medicare and Medicaid. Howard is certified by the State Health Insurance Program (SHIP) and will be taking appointments for Medicare Open Enrollment on Wednesdays starting Oct. 19, through the close of the open enrollment period in December. Howard recently joined the MAS Resource Center staff after a career in various healthcare positions and service in the US Air Force as a Medical Service Corp officer. She holds degrees from Whitman College, Tulane University and Montana Tech. Howard has spent summers in the Swan Valley on the family ranch all of her life and has resided in Missoula and Condon for the past 20 years.

A grand opening of the office will be in held in January, 2017.
