Law Enforcement Activities, Wilderness Inn Conversion To Head Council Agenda

SEELEY LAKE - Next Monday’s meeting of the Seeley Lake Community Council promises a broad agenda.

Missoula County Sheriff T.J. McDermott will speak on recent law enforcement activities in Seeley Lake.

Duane “Cecil” Schlabach will follow with a report on the successful conclusion of the Council’s two-year Traffic Project and the new speed limits.

Mike Boltz will outline his plans to convert the Wilderness Inn into affordable apartments. Since he is seeking U.S. government loans to finance the project, Boltz is asking for an endorsement from the Community Council.

The November candidates for Justice of the Peace who have accepted the invitation to attend will introduce themselves and answer questions.

Following, Scott Stearns, chair of the Missoula County Library Bond Committee, will explain the provisions of the proposed $30 million bond issue and what its passage would mean for the Seeley Lake branch library.

Finally the council will discuss the status of its Trails Committee. It will also entertain a request from the Clearwater Resource Council to endorse the group’s funding application for a trails project.

Like always, there will be an opportunity for public comments on non-agenda items.

The informal part of the meeting will start at 5:30 p.m. next Monday, Oct. 10, at the Seeley Lake Historical Museum and Visitors Center, 2920 Highway 83, with pizza and sodas.
