Lady Blackhawks Take On Vikings

SEELEY LAKE -The Seeley-Swan Lady Blackhawks hosted the Charlo Vikings Sept. 1.

After dropping the first game to the Vikings, 14-25, the Lady Blackhawks bounced back in games two and three, 25-18 and 26-24.

Game four went to the Vikings pushing the match to a fifth game. The Lady Blackhawks came out strong, leading by five though the first part of the game. The Vikings caught the Ladies and tied the game at 11.

The Lady Blackhawks couldn't fend off the Vikings and fell, 13-15, giving Charlo the game and the match.

Tessa Grimes, Andi Bohlman, Ashley Miller and Chloie Hanback led the Ladies in stats. Grimes had 5 assists and 2 stuff blocks. Miller also had 5 assists. Bohlman had 20 digs and 12 kills while Hanback served up 3 aces.

Head Coach Tammy Lewis said she is satisfied with how the team is coming together. "The team is working to be more balanced this season with more player options for both offense and defense," said Lewis.

Lewis said that in the match against Charlo, the Ladies spread the stats fairly well in everything except kills. Only two players had 21 of the 26 total kills.

The Lady Blackhawks play two matches this week starting in Superior Sept. 8, 5:30 p.m. taking on the Clark Fork Co-op. The Ladies then host Valley Christian Sept. 10 at 4 p.m.
